What is HVO?
HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) is a renewable diesel alternative made from sustainable waste materials including used cooking oil, vegetable oils and animal fats. Also known as green diesel, HVO is a cleaner-burning fuel designed as a direct replacement for traditional diesel.
HVO fuel can reduce net CO2 emissions by up to 90% compared to conventional diesel while also lowering NOx, particulate matter and carbon monoxide emissions. It meets EN 15940 standards, meaning it can be used in many diesel engines without modifications.
Common Uses for HVO
HVO fuel is widely used across industries including construction, agriculture, transport, rail, marine and events.
